Medical Waste Disposal Regulations
Disposal of medical waste is regulated on both the state and national level. In Nebraska this is the responsibility of the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), which oversees the storage and disposal of medical waste.

On the federal level the Department of Transportation (Dot) does enforce regulations regarding the transport of medical waste and the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) enforces regulations concerning medical waste in the workplace.
